Weird Collector

Life

Shot glasses, old cameras, blind box figures, and pokemon cards oh my! I certainly have a weird variety of things that I collect. I guess it’s to cover my wide array of hobbies and interests.

The shot glasses was actually a carry over from my parents, who used to always buy one everywhere we went. One day I sorta took over the collection wordlessly and bought myself one every time we went on vacation. Now they barely all fit on my shelves!

The whole camera thing started recently when we were cleaning out my grandmother’s house and dug up all these old cameras. I’d like to get some new and old cameras to add! I’d also like to try and use all of the old ones, to see what kind of pictures they can produce!

Blind box figures. I’m sure not everyone knows what these are, but I got into them from my time spent in the anime world. In fact, you can read about my blind box figure obsession here, where I wrote about it for a friend’s nerdy blog.

Finally, my longest standing collection…pokemon cards. Yes, that’s right. I am still collecting pokemon cards! Ah! I started this collection in 3rd grade…and IT’S STILL GROWING!! Stretching from one 3 inch binder and into a new 1.5 inch binder! With the new pokemon series coming out in October…you can believe I will have to ensure I get all these new pokemon into my collection!!
Actually, I’m only 11 pokemon away from having at least 1 of all 600+ pokemon!!! IT’S SO EXCITING!!!!!

  • I collect old cameras, too! Actually, I went a bit too wild on it and now the cameras collect me – there are so many, I almost don't have space haha

I also collect older cameras and toy cameras (seriously obsessed). I read your previous post on 'NerdPop' and will take super care of Chii (Yeah for another CCS lover!). I ended up laughing so hard when you described your parents reactions to Anime – Mind felt the same way. But at last the love for anime and collecting Pokemon cards became too much for them…acceptance become the new word.

P.s. I'm so jealous of your Pokemon collection. Mine was passed down to my brothers – Sadly their meaning of 'care' is way different from mine. >.<

  • Thanks!! Yeah my parents certainly weren't sold on the idea at first, but now they just accept it! XD Oh gosh! Yeah, my Pokemon collection is my little baby! I don't think I could ever give it away!

  • I love it! I used to collect shot glasses too until I had no room for them. I love the vintage camera collection!

  • I'm running out of room for my shot glass collection as well, I've started putting some on my bookshelf! hahaha! Thank you!
