Farmer’s Market Veggies + Crab

Life, Local Flavor

Every Friday close to us there is a little farmer’s market! It only has about 3 stalls that get set up, but they have great produce, and one is a kick butt baker with AMAZING bread! Since we had a pound of frozen crab legs in the freezer, we decided to pick up doe veggies to steam as a side dish!

Snow crab legs are my favorite!
Here is how we did it:
If you crab is pre-cooked (aka it’s red/pinkish when you buy it) you only need to heat it up.
Bring water to a boil seasoned with:
 Bay leaves (About 4)
Sprinkle of Cayenne pepper
Sprinkle of salt
Lemon & Garlic Seasoning (GrillMates for Chicken haha!)
Once it’s boiling, turn it off and add the crab! Stir it a few times and leave it sit in the hot water for about 6-10 minutes, or until the crab is hot. (We did 10 minutes, and it worked great!)
Melt some butter to dip the crab in, and you’re all set!!

  • I've never had crab legs… I've heard they are really good though! 😀

  • Kay

I love crab! Yet I don't like lobster. I haven't had crab legs in ages…mmmmm….

  • Yum!! All of your food pictures always make me hungry!

  • They are so good!! Especially dipped in melted butter! mmmm!

  • I like crab more than I like lobster, but there are certain kinds of crab I don't like too much, like I think snow crabs are better than soft-shell crabs haha I'm weird!

  • My bad! I'd share with you if I could!

  • That looks so good! I always thought crab was difficult because you have to cook them alive. But this looks so simple!

  • Only if you are eating a whole crab, like Maryland crabs, do you cook them alive. Normally they just sell the legs at grocery stores! 🙂
