Summer Hairstyles – #SummerBlogger Challenge

Blogging, Life

Disclaimer: I am terrible with hair. I can’t braid my own or even curl my own hair. The only thing I can manage is to straighten it and brush it. So here I will share things I WISH I could do with my hair.
Also! I recently got a hair cut! I cut off about 3 to 4 inches of my hair! WHOA! I probably should have done it at the start of the summer instead of the end…but oh well! It took me a while to decide to cut it. I hadn’t had my hair so long in YEARS!
I’ve had a ton of different hair styles! (And always make weird faces too)
So at that, I’ll share two of my favorite hair styles for the summer!
I love the ombre look, and once upon a time (in the winter months last year) I had an ombre hairstyle!
I wish I would have been able to braid before I chopped all my hair off, cause I would have done something like this!!
I think braids are super cute for the summer (if you can do them, unlike me) The Freckled Fox has a great selection of hair tutorials! I love all of them!
I’m also a fan of the whole trend of wrapping a head scarf around a bun! I’ll have to find a way to make a bun with my now lack of hair! Eek! How will I survive without buns?! I actually think I have enough hair to make a sock bun, so that will have to work!

  • The new haircut looks great! I'm such a fan of chopping it off every year because it makes my hair look a thousand times healthier. When I had my hair long I also wish I had known how to do those maiden braids, they're adorable.

  • Your hair looks great!! I think the shorter length looks lovely on you!

Haircut looks great! And I definitely rock the scarf around a bun look – it's one of the few things I can do. I can't curl my own hair either, but I can put it into a basic side braid, or braid my ponytail to put into a braided bun. I've tried maiden braids once, and it was a disaster haha!

  • You haircut looks fantastic! I love that one of you in the floppy hat, too. Amazing hair.

    Those braids?!?! Yes please.

  • The first thing I noticed was how much better my hair looked! (In terms of health) It was so straggly before! I think you have the right idea with chopping it off each year!

  • Thank you! 🙂

  • Oooooh! A braided bun sounds really nice! I have issues braiding my own hair, I always seem to mess it up! haha!

  • Thank you! 🙂

  • Your haircut looks great!

I've never been able to master the fine art of braiding, but when my hair gets a bit longer I'm going to try to tackle milkmaid braids.

  • Thank you! I can't figure out braiding either! I'd have to have someone else do it for me probably, I'm hopeless with hair!

  • your haircut looks good! I also like the beach wavy hair with the hat. you have some cute hairstyles, I have learned how to do certain braids from watching youtube videos it help in mastering the art of braiding.

  • SO cute, I love the new cut :] I'm such a scaredy cat when it comes to changing my hair…I just let it grow and grow haha.

  • Thank you! My hair is naturally wavy, which I love! Maybe I should try watching tutorials, the ones with pictures never seem to help me!

  • I like to think I'm rather adventurous with my hair! I own a lot of wigs too, which I like to wear sometimes to try bolder haircuts!

  • the ones with pictures don't help me by itself but with a video and pictures I have learned a couple different braiding methods.
