The Bookworm Does: Apple Picking!

Life, Local Flavor

Last week I finally got to go apple picking! It was overcast but the temperature was perfect for a sweater and jeans, so we set off to pick some apples and watch football upon return. Well, I was going to pin apple recipes while football was on the TV, but you get the point. Anyways, we drove a ways out of the city to get to the farm, which was HUGE! It was also packed, there were so many people! We got to drive on a windy dirt road to get to the orchard, which was what my Jeep was made for!

It was picking season for yellow delicious, red delicious, rome, empire, and winesap apples! My favorites are yellow and red delicious, so I picked lots of those! Alex went for empire apples and some others, we actually weren’t sure what they were cause we didn’t see a sign, but they were tasty!

They had a bunch of other fall activities set up, along with a little market, and these awesome carved pumpkins on display! I can’t wait to carve pumpkins later in the month! I love visiting farms! Fall activities are the greatest! Now I need to pick some recipes to use these apples in!
