‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the condo
Not a thing was stirring, cause a party is starting, pronto!
The stocking were sitting under the tree with care
In hopes that my parents would soon be there
The family was partying over in Pittsburgh
While my cousins keep posting pictures to twitter
And mom in her sweater, and I covered in cats
had just made fun of Alex for his Wizard’s hat
When out on the roof, there arose such a clatter
We all sprang from our seats to see what was the matter
Outside on the porch we started up in shock
There was cat perched on the chimney like a hawk
We went back inside to the warmth and dinner
Because none of us cared if we didn’t get thinner
The family sat at the table, eating plum perogies
Throwing back wine and some old fashioned hoagies
With a game of White Elephant I had to be quick
if I wanted that gift, it’d be gone in a blink
The family all together, and all of them came
Except for that one aunt, I don’t remember her name
The night was over before we knew, piled up in the Jeep
Everyone so tired, there was barely a peep
But in a whisper we heard, as we drove out of sight
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night!”
So how’d you like my (sorta) terrible, yet hilarious Christmas poem? It took me quite a while to finish actually, I tried really hard! I’m not good at rhyming. I can never pick words that rhyme with things (aka Pittsburgh….) so it’s always a struggle. Anyways, I hope everyone is having a nice holiday, whatever holiday it is that you celebrate!
Christmas Eve is the main holiday for my family, we all get together at someone’s house and hang out, play games, eat food, and have fun! This is also the first Christmas that I’m spending with Alex! Last year we went to our respective home towns, but this year, we get to be together on Christmas! I’m super excited for it! This is going to be the best holiday ever! All the presents are wrapped, the cards are mailed, and everything is perfect!
Have a lovely Christmas Eve!
