Travel Diaries – Anime in Japan

Travel Diaries

I didn’t go to Tokyo, so I missed out on the heart of the anime culture, but Nihombashi, Osaka had a street that was basically dedicated to it. Getting into anime back in middle school is what first made me want to visit Japan, since then, as I’ve matured, I’ve wanted to travel there for tons of other reasons. Although, I had to revert back to my middle school roots and frolic through the anime lands. It’s awesome to see things before they get released over in the States and to just see so much merchandise all in one place. It was a little over whelming!

I didn’t take too many pictures because I was way too busy freaking out over all the stuff, posters, and shops in the area. I was also too busy opening doors the wrong way and stuffing my face with amazing curry, seriously, might be my favorite food. If you would have told middle school Jess that one day in the future she’d get to go to Japan, middle school Jess might have cried or mightn’t have believed you. But, dreams do come true!

I talked on here about Kuroko no Basuke before, well, it was a little past his birthday when I was there. Cute huh? I loved going into the Animate shop in Osaka. (FIVE WHOLE FLOORS OF STUFF GUYS IT WAS INSANE!) They had EVERYTHING! I got soundtracks for Alex, figures and other trinkets for myself and gifts for friends back home too!
They had a maid cafe somewhere too, but we didn’t go there. There were a lot of things I didn’t get to do….so I have to go back for another trip right? I mean, I have to get to Tokyo at some point!!
