Pittsburgh Bucket List

Life, Local Flavor

Since we are moving soon, Alex and I decided to make up a bucket list of things that we wanted to do in Pittsburgh before moving! Some of these are more personal/sentimental things and others are more touristy things that everyone does when they visit. Either way, they are things we hope to do before we head down south! We’ve already done two things on the list, but I wanted to include them anyways, because they were things on the bucket list we had!
The Bucket List:
Spice Island – Where we had our first date!
Moraine State Park – Where we had another special date
The Incline – Everyone does it!
Strip District Market
Dinner at Eleven
Tekkoshocon – The anime convention in April
Top of the Cathedral – We both graduated from PITT
Bulter Drive In – Alex has never been to a drive in and I LOVE drive in theaters!
Merry Go Round in Schenley Park – My dream since getting here has been riding on it
Arsenal Bowling Lanes
Pirates Game
Phipps Conservatory
Falling Waters
Jerry’s Record Store + Squirrel Hill fun
Celebrations and More – A restaurant & bar run by our former manager at Starbucks!
Primanti Bros

Pittsburgh is full of fond memories. I’ve lived here for a little over five years now and been through a lot in this city. It will always be dear to me, although I’m ready for the next chapter in my life. I’ve lived in PA for 24 years now and I’m ready for a drastic change. Although, it’s weird to think that I might have been to certain places for the last time or been to certain events for the last time, like Art All Night. I missed it this year, so 2013 was the last year that I did it. Whoa. Weird to think about!
Moving is going to be an experience. Do you have a bucket list for your city?

A bookworm since the tender age of whenever I stopped chewing on books and started actually reading them. A cat-mom, graphic designer, and introvert originally from Pittsburgh, but now resides in the humid, hot, state of Texas. Cheers!

  • I may have to add a few of these to my list too! I've lived in the Pittsburgh area for so long and still haven't seen a lot of the things that the city has to offer. My husband and I started a list of things in or near the city to do too. Phipps was really nice!

  • What a great way to enjoy the city you live in! I'm almost tempted to make one for our town even though we aren't moving anytime soon

  • this is a great idea!!! I'll have to remember it!

  • I had a lot of fun brainstorming ideas with my boyfriend! It was a blast! Exploring the city you live in is totally worth it!

  • I think it's worth it to make one even if you aren't moving! It's a great way to explore the city you're living in and revisit special places!

  • I agree! There is so much that I haven't seen and I feel like there are places that I'm totally overlooking or forgetting about!

  • Nice list! If you want any help with any of those things, you know who to call 😀

What a great idea to make a fond farewell to your current city! My town is quite small, so no bucket list for the town itself, but there are definitely things I'd like to do in the state!

  • Oh yeah!! We should get together for lunch/dinner when Sara is in town and show her all the sights! I may be partial to the old alma mater and the surrounding area haha!

  • I feel like I could make a mini bucket list for Erie, but it would be really silly and no one would get it…it would involve things like "tractor racing" hahaha!

  • This is a great idea, whether one is moving or not! There's still so much in NYC that I want to see and do! I should make a bucket it's even though I'm not moving!

  • Yes! Any must-take places? I'm all about a Pitt/Oakland/Cathedral adventure 🙂 Museum? Library? Schenley?

  • looks lovely! especially that last shot. Ive not made it to Pittsburgh but I'm trying to broaden my US state horizons so its a city on my list.

  • I suggest doing them PRONTO! Justin and I spent 7 years of our lives in our college town (only 2 together as a married couple) and there were so many things we didn't get around to doing. True, we only live 30 min away from it now, but with two jobs and a baby, it's hard to go down there ever!

  • It's a really fun and interesting city to visit! There is a lot to do and the city culture is pretty awesome, Pittsburghers love Pittsburgh!

  • We are going to try! I really hope that we can cross everything off the list before we move!!
