Ring in the New Year!

Blogging, Life

Happy New Year!
I know the past few months have been rather full of silence on my part, which is why I’ll start this post with an announcement! I’m actually going to be taking the month of January off to do some hard core blog planning (probably with Meagan from Fiction Incarnate) so that I’ll be able to come back better than ever! Sort of like a month to do some blog/brand/life overhaul. I need to get a brand more together, work on my vision, and get myself better organized on the blog front (and probably other fronts as well, if I’m being honest)
But, I will start off the new year and my hiatus with a wrap up of the books from 2015! All in all I read 119 books in 2015. What? Yeah. You heard me. I’m counting manga and comics, but yeah, 119. Way more than the goal of 75 that I set for myself.
Of those 119, 10 were non-fiction and 109 were fiction.
More specifically the breakdown is as follows:
Memoir- 4
Non-fiction – 6
Mystery: 4
Horror: 2
Manga: 53
Comics: 9
Young Adult: 8
Picture books: 3 (Dude I work at a bookstore, and they are fun to read at the cash register)
Light Novels: 2
Fiction:  25
Short story collection: 2
Science fiction: 1
So if you are one of those people that don’t count manga or comics as “real books” then I guess I only read 57 books, but dude, manga and comics count (especially those giant compendiums I read for Invincible)
Other major life things that happened this year included:
  • Getting engaged
  • Moving to Texas
  • Alex leaving the country on vacation for the first time
  • Adopting a kitten
  • Becoming adults (for real)
  • Making new fabulous friends in Texas
  • Getting new cars
  • Alex graduating graduate school with a Masters degree
  • Getting a new job (both of us)

I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for me, and also I can’t wait to see how long it takes me to stop writing 2015 on everything I have to date. (spoiler alert, probably not until March) I’ll see you all later in the year, try not to forget about me! You can always follow me on Twitter and Instagram for more daily life updates!
